Fishing in Comporta

Our Good Friend Vasco with his Monster Catch along the Beach in Comporta
It’s 6.00am in the morning and our good friend Vasco is clearing the ice from his window shield on his car parked just in front of where he lives in Comporta Cocoon, an environmentalists home set within the pine forests of the private Herdade da Comporta Estate.
It’s a regular occurance, probably three or four times a week as Vasco prepares himself to set off for the Coast where fishing in Comporta is still a daily activity and bread winner for many of the local inhabitants.
On a usual day you’ll find Vasco fishing for around three hours before setting off home to start work which will take up another nine hours of his day.
Vasco who is originally from Lisbon and has lived and travelled to many parts of the world is quite happy with his semi-retirement as he enjoys a tranquil and quality lifestyle as he continues fishing along the beautiful coast and beaches of Comporta.
