Odemira is a town and municipality in the District of Beja within the region of Alentejo, Portugal. The population is around thirty thousand inhabitants and has an area covering 1,720 square kilometres making it the largest municipality in Portugal by land size.
Odemira has a number of stunningly wild beaches which has attracted many Dutch and German nationals to make their home here with the small village of Zambujeira do Mar also hosts one of the largest rock festivals in Europe called the Festival do Sudoeste (Southwest). Apart from the stunning Alentejo coastline the municipality of Odemira also has a large agricultural presence due to the vast land area and quality of the soil.
The municipality of Odemira boasts many places to visit with one particular area to put on your view list being Vila Nova de Milfontes which is a quaint little fishing village, boasting beautiful ocean and river beaches, great surf and a couple of superb restaurants including A Tasca do Celso which also boasts a great wine list.
