Why buy Property in Alentejo?
Alentejo is the largest region in Portugal and stretches south of the Tagus River touching Spain, the Atlantic coast and the tip of the Algarve. Alentejo has it all, rolling hills, open countryside, and some of the most prestigious beaches in Portugal.
Over the last thirty years many of the properties in Alentejo have been purchased by the wealthier Portuguese from Lisbon, along with a number of foreigner buyers whom have been especially attracted by the Alentejo Monte which is a typical detached country residence and generally located within or close by to fields cultivated for agricultural production.
The price of properties in Alentejo have risen steadily over the years but are still relatively inexpensive when compared to other parts of Europe. Like with the rest of the property in Portugal to be able to sell property in Alentejo one has to have a little patience and even though the market is a little slow (2011) people are still able to buy property in Alentejo at reasonable prices. Buying your ideal property in Alentejo still seems to be a clever long term investment and currently there seems to be sufficient quantity to satisfy everybody’s requirements in relation to taste and budget.
