Our Community

The Community is an essential part to any family and it will normally have an enormous bearing on their local lifestyle too.

Understanding the local conditions, culture and attitude is important when the time comes to buy property in Portugal and the neighbourhood you select will have a dramatic impact on all aspects of your life.

The information that we have provided here includes our brief Professional Bio and some history and information on our local community which stretches from Troia Resort including Sol Troia through to Comporta, Carrasqueira, Carvalhal and the latest developments being offered by the Herdade da Comporta, Casas da Encosta and a lovely little private Eco development known as Comporta Cocoon.

If you feel that you too would like to be part of this traditional yet forward thinking community and you would like to receive further information on where, what or how to buy property here or anywhere for that matter in Portugal, then feel free to call us at your convenience.

My wife and I live and work here on the Troia Peninsula all year round, and have had the good fortune of meeting and getting to know many of the other local people and families who live and work here too. We have become a good centre of influence in the area and have certainly been beneficial to numerous tourists who have passed through. Even if you are not thinking of buying property, but need some help or advice feel free to call us too!

Our short Professional Bio

Over the last thirty years I have been professionally involved with many aspects of the real estate Industry and have had the good fortune of being able to successfully counsel many satisfied clients.

My career began when I commenced my apprenticeship in Brickwork and four years later qualified as a Master Craftsman with site management credentials.

Shortly after my apprenticeship and upon discovering that I had a "good head" for figures, I took an industry sidestep and moved into financial services and began advising my clients on how to fund and insure their homes and commercial properties. This led to my qualification with both LAUTRO and FIMBRA, whilst also serving with the MLIA.

Good fortune smiled once again when fortuitously I was introduced to a "way of life" by an obscure international writer (PT). Here I was able to further my education when I was able to study and comprehend the many advantages of arranging one's assets securely, whilst combing life with international travel and variety.

My combined experience as enabled me to live in, and travel to many destinations which has provided many opportunities for both my clients and I to own and invest in property in many countries including but not limited to, the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Brazil and the United States of America.

I currently have two pending patents for what I believe to be some of the most environmentally friendly “Green” buildings (residential and commercial) on the planet today. (Investors and likeminded people, feel free to get in touch)

My wife for the last ten years has sold luxury condominiums and other properties both in the Algarve and Greater Lisbon, and I am very proud to say that she speaks five languages; French, Portuguese and English fluently with an excellent understanding of Spanish and a love for Italian.

As a professional couple, we serve our clients like we would like to be served ourselves.

For advice or consultation, please call or email us at your earliest convenience.

Kind regards,

Ronald and Carla

Tips for Finding the Perfect Neighbourhood:

1. Make a list of all of the amenities that are close by in the neighborhood you are considering as your new residence.  Keep in mind what distances and routes to each of these places are acceptable and what are not.

2. Determine what the best features of the neighborhoods are.  This is especially helpful if you are deciding between a few different neighborhoods.

Are there parks nearby?
Is it scenic and visually appealing?
Are there quiet areas, streets, culs de sac?
Are the people friendly in the neighborhood?
Is the neighborhood clean?  Yards, streets, parks?
Are there nice trees and foliage?
Do the lots have large or small yards?
Are there walkways and are they easily accessible?
Is it a safe neighborhood?
What are the market values of the homes in the area?
Are there many houses for sale?
How long ago was the community developed?
What is the average age of the people in the area?
Are there families with small children in the area?
What is the proximity to schools?
Are there community events or organizations?

3. Walk around in the neighborhood.  The best way to determine the cleanliness and friendliness of the neighborhood is to walk around in it and meet its residents.

Upcoming Events:

Our neighbourhood is more vibrant than ever!  And over the coming months and years there will be a dramatic change to the landscape that will catapult this neighbourhood into one of the most sought after areas in the whole of Europe.

Many of the financial and property journals have already suggested that this neighbourhood will see a triple digit increase in property prices over the next ten years.

If you consider that you already have a number of the top European companies investing here then what will this bode for the future? A number of the companies that are already here include Sonae, Bank Espirit do Santo, Herdade da Comporta, Amorim, Soares da Costa, Pestana,  and of course ourselves Living Portugal Property.
